The Birth of a New Year

The new year has begun as the last one ended, with miserable, grey, damp weather. I  thought today I would try and create  something colourful using a jar of coloured threads. After finding a composition I liked and taking the photo, it was edited to achieve this result. The yellow swirl reminded me of an umbilical cord and led to the choice of title.
