Escape of the rose

This perfect January rose looked as though it were trying to escape from prison!

We all went on a walk together this morning as the skies were a tad brighter than they have been - not that that's saying much!!

This afternoon we watched the recording of this morning's New Year concert from Vienna.  The selection of music was excellent and all played at a good pace.  I remembered the conductor, Daniel Barenboim, from when I used to listen to classical records with my Dad in the 60's/early 70's.  He used to belong to a record club where they sent you a record or two each month. I must admit we rarely listen to classical music ourselves, except for the New Year concert and sometimes Last night of the Proms!
