Wondrous Wabi-sabi

Monsaraz is saved from being too picturesque by houses like this one, as well as the occasional goat sitting on a table, chickens pecking in a yard, or washing hanging on the line. 

We got up late after last night/this morning, and had a lot to do to get ready for guests tomorrow, but the sun was shining, it was a stunning day, so off we went for a walk. Parked below the hill that Monsaraz is on, and walked up to have a snack at the new café I've fallen in love with.

Won't be quite as deluxe as it could have been, but totally worth it. At least all the food prep is done.
