Starting off

...with a bit of fog and a broken coffee maker. I've seen quite a few blips today featuring lovely blue sky. That wasn't here, as you can see. It got progressively soupier, and late this evening a squall passed through that really pelted the windows. 

Had a good FaceTime visit with family, and drove to the far-off glitzy mall to exchange a couple things. Felt a bit crowded after the foggy stillness out here in the "country." We got some gyros to go, from a food counter run by a Yemeni man, and that (instead of the traditional New Year's meal prescribed by W's family, featuring ham and greens and beans) was our very tasty dinner.
