Cactus

These little darlings reside in my garden. They are not supposed to grow more than 1 metre high, but I don't think they know that, as one year I just let them grow and when the plants got to a metre and a half I cut them down, and they are lethel to handle even with a couple of pairs of good gardening gloves on I still end up with cactus spines in my hands. Its interesting to see the inside of the plant, they are very fleshy, a bit like a cucumber. Every couple of years I have to cut three or four down to base level and they then grow babies. The flowers only last a day. My neighbour thinks its a particularly rude plant!
