Life in a Northern Town

Please send sympathy.

This dear girl cut her leg badly on NYE - the vet initially said he couldn’t stitch it at the local surgery as she’d require a general anaesthetic, but she was so calm when he examined her he thought he could do it under a local - which fortunately he did, saving us a very long wait at the emergency vet at the main surgery ( and probably another £500!!). She’s on bed rest and lots of huge tablets that require many, many treats to get them down her, so life isn’t so bad. She is very keen to remove the stitches though, so she’s having to be constantly monitored, or muzzled when we have to leave the room. She’s is not impressed.

We had plans to have some friends round tonight to help us eat up the Christmas leftovers but they’ve both tested positive today. It seems everyone we know currently has it.
