Snap, crackle, and pop

Ah, that's better

We cycled into Vila Nova de Milfontes for lunch at the Riverside Pub. It's a pretty hairy 8 Km ride for a nervous cyclist such as myself. I lost the back wheel a few times on loose sand and once came to a sudden and unexpected stop in deep sand. Happily I didn't actually fall over. It was warm work in the sun.

We arrived in one piece and, once I was able yo lose my death grip on the handlebar, I was jolly happy to wrap myself around a pint of Guinness!

We came back by the longer route on the main road, 10 Km of further terrors... I had thought that it might be quiet on a Sunday but there was a constant stream of traffic.

It was good though to be out on the bikes after so long, we didn't manage to use them at all last year.

Hopefully I will settle in and lose my nerves when we are out and about a lot in Sagres over the coming weeks. Can't wait to be there! Two more sleeps
