Fellowship

The first Albion match I ever saw wasn't actually at the Hawthorns, but at Fellows Park, Walsall. Long since demolished and replaced by the more modern Bescot Stadium (which itself is now old enough to look a bit dated compared to 21st century lower league stadia), Fellows Park remains a fond memory for me of what watching football used to be like.

So I'm pleased that, even though the Albion have let me down today, Walsall appear to be on the up. Like the first girl you loved, you may have found others since that took a far greater hold on your heart, but that defining experience always remains. (Though "romance" and "Walsall" are words rarely used in the same sentence).
