This years Feuerzangenbowle went well without a major fire incident…
The wine is warmed up in a traditional copper cauldron with a selection of spices and the crowning glory is a sugar cone balanced above, which is soaked in 80% Austrian rum and set alight. The molten sugar then drips into the wine giving it a lovely flavour. The fun bit is when more rum is poured over the cone to keep the flame going! A great atmosphere with lovely friends to see in the new year. Toast to a happy 2022!
