A tree filled with birdsong.
Today we made a foray into our local supermarket primarily to test our new shopping bag on wheels which will now virtually negate our need to drive there anymore! Good news for the environment and for our fitness levels too!
The supermarket seemed to be resting and recovering after all the Christmas and New Year food shopping frenzy. I found this return to normality both reassuring and unsettling. Reassuring because I don’t like the commercial pressure this season seems to bring. Unsettling because I am acutely aware of the unprecedented demands being made on food banks in this country, this Christmas.
On a more positive note as we walked to the store we saw and heard a wonderful gallery/chorus of birds. Wrens, robins, blackbirds long tailed tits, blue tits and even two song thrushes. It was truly uplifting.
