The view from Keir House
This morning saw us join seven friends for our traditional new year walk. Pre-covid the walk ended with us all gathering at the house of friends who invented the tradition for soup and pudding. When I say this I mean four kinds of soup, at least five puddings and a huge cheeseboard. This year we took our own flasks of coffee and had coffee and cake half way round the route. We were standing at the front of the A listed Keir House (extra). The house and estate were owned by the Stirling family. David Stirling, founder of the SAS, was born here.
It is a truly beautiful day. Frosty grass, bright sun, blue sky, no wind. A temperature much more in keeping with January than what we've had recently. This blip is looking into the sun towards the castle and in the foreground one of the magnificent trees of the Keir parkland.
It's been great to see people and do something traditional tweaked for pandemic days.
