Amaryllis

This is one of the amaryllis that comes in a waxed bulb and you don't water. So, I bought it on 9th December and it has not had a single drop of water but produced it's first flower on 2nd January. I fear the first trumpet will start to wilt before the fourth trumpet emerges so I decided to share a photo of it today. 
Robin thinks it is "not of this world" :-)) I am amazed by it. Incidentally I did also plant an amaryllis bulb in the customary way and it has not grown at all so I am glad I also took a chance on the waxed variant!
