We three kings...

La noche de Los Reyes - the night of the kings - the Magi from the east, which is also Twelfth Night, is a big event in the village. Less so since Covid, but it has consisted of an arrival of the kings, in darkness, to a nativity stage in the plaza, where children and families assemble and the children go up, one at a time, to collect a small gift each. In the days when I was Melchior, handing out gifts from a sack, we ascended on floats hauled by tractors, but more recently someone has decided that ancient Jerusalem probably didn't have tractors, and now donkeys and horses are used.

Translation: Their highnesses the wise kings from the east will arrive accompanied by their retinue, at the Square of the Emigrants, at 8.00 in the evening on Saturday to visit the children of Cabranes.
