Day out

It was a bright sunny morning so I suggested we ventured out in the car. We had no destination in mind, so we just wandered, exploring the country lanes of Surrey. The low sun was dazzling but it didn’t prevent our enjoyment of the countryside. It was very muddy everywhere, I didn’t realise we had had so much rain.
We ended up at Dunsfold at a pub on the green and the bright red door invited us in. It was a very interesting building. The formal front you can see in the extra hides a much earlier building, and the room we were in was opened up to a very complicated roof as you see in the second extra. We ate well, then made our way home on main roads. It was so good to get out.
