Second-time-around

A bit bleak.

Today was forecast to be the only sunny and not-raining day this week.

The forecast was partly right - it didn't rain!  But the sun was rationed and it was only 'sunny intervals'.  And it was very cold.

To get to this beach you have to walk alongside an old harbour.  Some tourists were walking along the harbour with their dog not on a lead. He jumped in.  The owner scrambled down the bank and managed to get the dog out, as he had tried to get up the steep bank but couldn't.  I know dogs like to jump and swim in rivers but this harbour has steep sides all round so its not a good place for a dog to jump in!   Then the owner, having passed out the dog to the adults with him, found he couldn't get up the bank himself!  In the end a local man brought a ladder from his garage and he was helped out.  Very wet.  They had been going toward the beach but they went back to their car.  I felt sorry for the dog, who didn't get his beach walk.

I've seen a dog rescued from this harbour before.  They were tourists too.  Locals keep their dogs on their leads till they get to the beach.  Tourists tend not to!
