Driving the lorry
The excitement of the day was a visit to the super market, which after yesterday doesn't really compare. However, they were very happy to have a play in the lorry outside the shop.
Haircuts for boys this morning, so they are now looking super smart. I do quite like the end of holiday scruffyness they adopt though, something rather unkempt and happy about it all. We passed a nasty accident on our way down to the barbers, which needed the air ambulance. A rather surreal conversation with the barber ensued where he commented that there had been an air ambulance up our way a few months ago and I had to tell him it had been for us. The boys cleared the air perfectly by telling him that they got to watch extra tv that evening because of it all!
Christmas decorations down. The naked tree is in the living room, mostly because I've lied to the boys and said it's being collected so that we can have it again next year (the youngest has become rather attached to 'Mr Christmas tree'). In truth, I'll be taking the secateurs to it tomorrow and putting it in the recycling as I couldn't get a collection slot for it!
Today I'm grateful for:
Normality resuming. The Christmas break is so lovely, but it's good to be getting everyone back into a routine again
The boys taking almost all of the decorations down by themselves whilst I had a shower and taking the responsibility so seriously!
A lovely Christmas break and being able to take time off studies and work when it is the school holidays.
