All I want to know is...

why do they always land in the oak with the grapevines all over it? It's almost impossible to get a clear shot . Sigh.
Our juvenile Sharp shinned hawk has been by twice trying to snag a meal at the feeder and has missed both times. The yellow eyes turn red for adults. The (much) larger adult female has been hanging around as well though she hasn't been successful hunting at the feeder  when I've seen her either. The female was surprising as she was so big I though she was a Cooper's but the tail was squared off not rounded and the head was wrong for a Cooper's.The numbers of doves we have is a definite draw. ( 42 largest count).
