I spent a good stretch of my childhood growing up in small town, generation after generation all living and marrying and raising the next generation within a tiny radius. It has its charms!

But everyone knew who you were, what was your “stock” and your family history and your expected potential.

So the anonymity of the city appeals to me. And I love seeing the city light up at night: all these tiny boxes, someone else’s universe.

In the morning we’ll all wake up and reassemble out in the city, to work and walk and meet and live another day.
