Twelfth Night
We've always celebrated Twelfth Night on 6th but a little research shows that it should be the 5th, which we had decided on this year anyway having looked at weather forecast. One of the best blazes, and we jumped over the embers for some traditional good luck.
The 'research' also reveals that in Tudor times Christmas revelling continued until 1 February (Candlemas Eve). It was the Victorians who decided the party was too long and people should get back to work.
