Fort

Met one of my friends at the Falkirk Wheel on Wednesday morning. The plan, though, was not to visit the Wheel itself. Instead we walked up past and behind the Wheel and joined the path network there. Our route brought us out at Rough Castle, the site of a Roman fort (pictured, also extra) on the Antonine Wall, where we spent some time meandering and taking photos.

Leaving Rough Castle we walked into Bonnybridge, had a wee wander around the blink-and-you'll-miss-it Heritage Park and then returned to the Wheel along the Canal.

A change of shoes then a rather splendid lunch at a nearby restaurant to round off our first in-person get-together for 2022. Beats weekly Facetime chats hands down.
