Castle Tioram (pronounced Cheerum)

The pronunciation itself is a fine thing for a drizzly day. We had thirty minutes of dry weather though just as we arrived. That, along with low tide, made for a great walk across the sandy causeway to the castle for an explore.

By the time we started back, the beautiful hanging mist around the mountains had gone and the rain had started up. We headed the opposite way to home first of all and stopped for our lunch overlooking Loch Sunart. Rich was overjoyed to find a coffee shop open. No dogs but a takeaway service and the owner had great stories about a lived-in castle we had just gone past.

With the lochs now silver and calm, we were on high otter spotting alert.

And… Not one but two!

The first was right next to a parking bay (extra) and the second we had stopped at because Rich said he’d live there if he was an otter. Good shout (my points though). Rich knows it’s only a pine martin that can get him back in the game now!
