Read the runes

Another cold day that has turned wet with sleet. Fortunately we completed our walk as the skies darkened and before the sleet started.
I have spent a very pleasant few hours studying the blues (again.) A project for the new year - discovering new depths and sounds in something so apparently simple.
The main news items seem to focus upon different aspects of judicial processes and democracy in countries around the world - Djokovic's visa to enter and play tennis in Australia; Maxwell the sex trafficker and a possible retrial in the USA; the Colston statue 'not guilty' verdict in the UK; and the anniversary of the storming of the Capitol building in the USA by Trump supporters trying to overturn the election result and no consequences for Trump himself. Now breaking news, Johnson did not 'deliberate mislead' by not declaring crucial messages that show that he was lying about what he knew about the expensive refurbishment of the Downing Street flat. How many of us could get away with saying 'I know I told you something else, but I was not deliberately misleading you.'
