Greylag

Today's the day ........................ to eat veg

This picture is not of the best quality because the light was failing and they were quite a way away - but these are two of the flock of greylag geese (I think) that were on a field near our house..  

The farmer who owns this field has spent lots of time putting in drainage ditches and endlessly fertilising it over the past couple of years. The grass is very lush and a bright green colour even in the middle of winter.  I'm sure the geese are really enjoying the vegetarian cuisine on offer.

Let's hope the farmer is just as pleased that he's sharing it with them...………….
