Another day in Paradise...
Right before going to bed last night I was looking at the photos of the road conditions going south. Sure enough it was snowing in Napavine. The weather forecast said it was going to warm up overnight and turn into 48 hours of rain in lowlands. That's exactly what happened.. Just bucket fulls of rain all day long..
As for the mountains - it has been awhile since highway 2, 97, 90, 12, 14, and 84 were all shut down at the same time due to conditions. They say 90 and 12 won't open till Saturday. Right now we have 2 drivers stuck in eastern Washington for what looks like will be a few days. The other 5 driver in my division will just have to work a little hard to get the job done.
We are all hoping Interstate 5 doesn't flood or that a landslide blocks it. In 2007, I was stuck on the side of the road for 2 days as the highway was underwater - record rains that year. So far so good...
Swimming back to Portland tomorrow...
