Save the Green Sea Turtle nest

The large sea swells necessitated the excavation and relocation of this Green Sea Turtle egg nest in front of my house. Local government volunteers who monitor the nests in this area evacuated this nest while taking detailed photos of the position of the eggs they removed as the surf surged towards them during high tides caused by ex-cyclone Seth. The eggs are laid between November and January in nests at the top of the dunes (return each year). The eggs incubate for about 6 weeks in the hot summer sand. Then the baby turtles make sprint to the surf. Many don't make it... Hope these ones are ok when relocated. I didn't ask them where they were relocating them. I was some distance away and didn't "disturb" their work.
