The River Blakewater
A shot taken as Bramble and I crossed the bridge into the park where Arthur’s cycle tots group were meeting .
The River used to be known as the Stink Water but since we have lived here ( since 1982) there have been massive efforts to clean it up and twice I have spotted a kingfisher flitting up and down .
I’ve been listening to some reports about tax payers money being given to landowners for rewilding projects. I hope it won’t be a repeat of previous handouts which have been used as a prize cash cow for people who own huge tracts of land . It sounds a bit more hopeful but I guess we will see . I’ve always found it hard to get my head around ownership of land , water etc . It all seems a nonsense to me and only works because enough people buy into the nonsense. I can just about understand the need for the security provided by owning the land your home is built on.
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend whatever the weather . Xx
