The Phone Box - No Smoking
Drinking? Obviously not a problem!
"The human brain works that way too. It only operates as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. So, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
~ Cliff Clavin
On the day it's announced that Blipfoto has been selected as one of the 100 websites that six major UK libraries will begin collecting information from to allow researchers in the future to experience a snapshot of life at the start of the 21st century... I present the modern day phone box. Today more used as a shelter from the rain to drink your carry out (Research Note #1: search "brown bag", "off sales", "binge drinking", "Friday night") than for making phone calls (Research note #2: search "mobile phone", "vandalism", "extortionate pricing", "Friday night")!
On a more personal note, how cool is it to think that our own little old slice of life is being kept for posterity? So, lets keep it clean folks. Bugger, I really need to go back and edit some stuff Blip Central! Our descendants are laughing at watching us!
"Hi, future people!"
Research note #3: I hope someone put a copy of Cheers aside for you guys. You'll love it!
Research note #4: I'll bury mine in a box just in case they didn't (see treasure location map for details).
Research note #5: Actually, Cliff's quote should probably count as a note of scientific importance too!
Research Note #6: My entries not always like this. They do get worse. This is what we some might call humour.
