BethaBlip 29...

This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.

Potty month. We've said it before, but this time it's serious. Bethany starts school nursery in August and we really want her to be potty trained before she starts. New potty chart has been drawn up. Nappies are only worn at night. We're going cold turkey. That's her chart that she and her mum made up at the start of the week and it is filling up with stars. Filling up so much so that if she manages to put another on it tomorrow morning, she gets a wee treat and a bus ride up to Dunfermline.

There's been a couple of accidents (including a vindaloo jacuzzi last night which was a delightful surprise) but in the main it feels like we're getting there.

Bedtime is still a little touch and go. Current routine is...
1) a story, generally Goldilocks, lift up flap edition
2) Lemonheads version of Frank Mills with various words replaced with Daddy, Mummy, Ewan, Bethany and Meagan (her cousin).
3) Twinkle, twinkle little star generally on guitar, sometimes on piano.

Number 4 is sometimes, straight to sleep, sometimes a bit more disturbed. Bethany always sleeps with the light on and every night professes that she is scared of the dark inspite of every avaiable light being on. This is hard to interpret in a 2 year old but we think it may be when she closes her eyes.

I've noticed also, some funny memory oddities that Bethany comes up with. Her cousin Meagan, mentioned above. She just started out of the blue, mentioning her. Another similar thing was again, out of the blue, she asked to use Ewan's Thomas book with the pen. This book hadn't been mentioned in over a month and I had to track it down but sure enough, we still had it.
