Quod oculus meus videt

On the Way into Work

Two visits to the offices on consecutive days.  Despite the guidance to work from home some of our work requires the use of specialist printers for the taxi plates and badges so we met up and processed as many as we could before supplies ran out.  It was a pleasure to be in the offices with a small group of 6 people (all socially distanced and following Covid protection measures).  The camaraderie you get from these opportunities to work and pass the time of day is a timely reminder of the isolation of working from home.

On the way in I'd hoped to get some interesting skies at sunrise, but the clouds did not oblige.

Later in the day I walked into the local village only to again hear jets roaring overhead.  This is the third time in four days I've noticed this only to look up and see a flight of four Eurofighter Typhoons flying in formation high above.  I can only assume that they cross our part of England when returning from some low level training around Snowdonia.  The delta wing is unmistakable.  I've never noticed them before but to see the same thing on so many occasions in one week is surprising.  Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, they produced contrails so it was easier to see the formation.  I've promised myself a visit down to the Mach Loop, an area in Snowdonia where they practice low level flying and many enthusiasts climb the mountain sides either side of the valley to watch and photograph the planes flying through.
