The shape of spring to come.......

This tightly closed Magnolia stellata bud is evidence of how late spring actually is this year!
Last year these buds had burst and the plant had almost finished flowering, this year it still looks like it did in January.
Apparently from tomorrow the weather is warming up...so here's to bursting buds and ample spring flowers!
