let's talk about art...
Went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the Alison Watt exhibition. She is clearly very skillful and the paintings are well impressive. But it didn't quite grab me. While we were there we also went to see the Thomas Joshua Cooper exhibition of photos taken around the Atlantic from the South Pole to the North Pole, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Really loved it. He uses an antique field camera and limits himself to a single exposure at each location. In many ways I was most impressed by a solid white picture made during a whiteout in Antarctica which took a number of people holding down the tripod, the camera and the photographer himself. Home via my favourite kebab shop which I hadn't visited in ages.
