Daring
This is a Gig rowing boat of the Lyme Regis club. We often see them out in the bay near Lyme Regis and I've only just looked up their history, as rescue boats and pilot boats – getting a pilot out to ships arriving in port. From the effort that was put into the rowing and then to beach the boats later I reckon they're pretty heavy vessels. Note also the bare feet and legs in what must have been chilly water.
We visited Lyme to take advantage of the sunny spells in the morning, and it was just starting to spit with rain as I puffed up the hill to take the picture in the Extra, and you can see the high cloud of the approaching front (I suspect). There were people swimming, despite the air temperature. I hear you, Jeano . . .
