Winter opening
What a difference a day makes! After yesterday's constant rain, today it has been dry from the off, and was even sunny most of the morning. We had postponed our work party session on the wildlife area, from yesterday to today, when we saw the weather forecast a few days ago. This morning, there were ten of us hard at work coppicing the overgrown hazel trees, and cutting the wood into manageable pieces to use as beanpoles, fuel for log burners, and for a bonfire on site. We hope the coppicing will let in more light, and we'll get a better understorey of plants developing. The main shows the coppiced area and the extra shows our huge pile of cuttings ready for a bonfire in a couple of weeks time.
