A Walk on the Wolds

Up on the Wolds near Sledmere, our route took us around the derelict church and the deserted medieval village of Cottam.  There is not much of the village left to photograph, just lumps and bumps in the turf, but it is a wonderfully atmospheric and peaceful spot. We ate our sandwiches there but the biting wind made it too cold to linger long!
