Meeting the Royals
We went to Dryburgh this afternoon, for a ramble round the ruins. It wan't to be, the ruins are being checked for bits that are crumbling, and the Abbey is all fenced off.
The grounds are still open, so we explored a little bit, and came upon these fellows (they are back to back, very economically minded people, the Scots).
The main is King James the Second (of Scotland), no doubt quite a dandy in his day. Alas, he got blown up by his own cannon (also memorialised here).
On the back (extra) is his Dad, King James the First. He looks a bit chilly, and a bit silly. Someone should have told him to wear a thicker pair of hose.
