Curiosity

We were given at Christmas one of those lighting up chocolate boxes. Not just any lighting up chocolate boxes but …. Well, you know the rest.

All very tasty and nice but lots of packaging.

We were curious to see how the system operated that lit up the stars in the sky. It seems that as the lid is pulled up a unit (top of the picture) passes a magnet ( top left) which triggers the system to operate the lights in a brief sequence before shutting down ready for the next time.

I’m not convinced it enhanced the taste of the chocolates but it has enhanced our understanding - to a degree - of how these things work.

Too cloudy to see any Aurora Borealis tonight. I will just have to reassemble the box to see lights in the sky.
