Still

A quiet and relaxed day. Left A in bed when I collected CMB and we headed off to Gullane for a walk, hoping to miss the forecast rain. We actually had a few bright patches and it wasn’t anything like as cold as yesterday so enjoyed a good walk and absolutely non-stop talk. Unfortunately the planned stop at the cafe was scuppered as it was closed, so after some googling we went to Cockenzie House which was somewhat understaffed and a bit chaotic but we managed.
Home and found A baking for someone who’s leaving work tomorrow. The first set of gluten free ones sunk when she lifted them out of the oven so needed to make a second batch, then the chocolate in the buttercream went all crystalline and so she needed to go and buy more and start again (extra). What a faff! Still, they turned out ok in the end and she was a bit chirpier than yesterday after a snooze.
After all that baking and faffing in the kitchen we weren’t very hungry so just had a salad for supper and she sorted herself out ready for work tomorrow.
In the evening I heard that my colleague is still stable, and they’re going to try and reduce the ventilation a little. I think that counts as some good news, despite still being critically ill.
