Little boxes
I visit Gordon and Sarah. Walking through Almondvale park, Gordon is surprised to see a new block of houses that have popped up since the last time he took the top park. Spread across the horizon, they pose an implicit threat to the arable field that separates them from the park. I’m reminded of the old song, Little Boxes, that I first heard as the theme tune to Weeds.
Later, Ewan helps me load an under counter freezer into the car at the old Heatherlee tannery in Bonnington. Ian and Liz provide me with conversation and water. Nick helps me unload the freezer back at home. And then it’s time for tea.
