A Thankful Afternoon tea

This was our first chance to entertain in the redeveloped garden. These were the guys who helped us make my pipe dream a reality, so it was fitting that we enjoyed it with them. I am so grateful to them all.

The table fits nicely over the fire pit and the middle terraced area is the prefect size for a 3mx3m shade tent. What planning!

I think we started in Jan 2017 and finished in Jan 2020. Armed with pick axes, wheel barrow and YouTube, myself and these capable young folk ( plus my eldest) taught ourselves to make retaining walls with steps and drainage.

Every Summer holiday we tackled another large section of the plan, resulting in 3 terraces and a fish pond.
We even roped in the grown ups after a year of half dug trenches/ bear traps scattered around the steep garden made the garden a safety risk!
