An Apple A Day

Evening dog walk in the forest came across MrB just returning from Lake Constance with a huge trailer of shredded apple remains left over after being pressed for apple juice.

Lake Constance is one of the big and certainly best known fruit growing areas of Germany. The farm he got the "waste" from is also where his hunting dogs come from.

The Apple ...Pomace, Marc, Mash? ..  is filled into plastic barrels along with some other goodies such as chestnuts and then allowed to ferment. In winter, MrB will feed it to the deer on his hunting patch.
