Avarques

These sandals are unique to Menorca. They are made of two strips of leather and the durable soles are cut from old tyres. Although originally made for practical use by farm workers, they have become a popular (and very comfy) item for general wear, and consequently are now made in a variety of colours and patterns. I have a pair with lizards on to match my tattoo. Re the latter, will be revisiting the artist today to decide on another design.
