The conditional tense

It's been another dull day weather wise, and I was just telling my daughter-in-law Carly that for that reason I hadn't stopped to take any photos while I was out on my bike. She suggested I take a photo of the picture that hangs over the settee and say that's what my ride was like, although with more mud and less sun.

What an excellent idea!

So the picture is what I would have liked my bike ride to be like.
