Its the Way It Is

Pink

one of my favourite colours.

Today in college, we looked at lenses and their effect on specific shots. We talked about spherical aberration (yes I know you know all about that, and so do I - what larks).

We analysed the importance of perspective in fight scenes and we looked at our tutor’s 10 fave fight scenes and discussed the time/space necessary to make a fight realistic (without anybody actually gittin’ hurt).
We broke into groups of five to produce a storyboard for our own fight scene (early wide shot to establish the relationship between the two protagonists and cut to close ups and over the shoulder). It was real fun. We do a lot of faffing around and messing .. well we are stoodents after all.

After our 5 minute shorts were shown in class, we then looked at clips from Raging Bull studying the shots of punches straight on and from below etc. Very interesting

Then we had a brief intro to animation and program we will be using. Www.mixamo.com

But that’s for end of January.

It’s been a full day and I’m going to relax and watch Discovering Richard Harris on Sky Arts at 6pm and if I’m still awake, watch John Berger at 11 on BBC4 (could be in repose by then tho’)
