Steadfast Gate
A good morning at the allotment followed by some cover at the nursery-the weather was much milder today.
I didn't have much time for photos but here is the Sinclair Fountain close to Connaught Place.
I have walked past this most days but didn't know its history. Apparently the fountain used to stand near the West End of Princes Street before being moved and put into storage in 1926-for many years. I am not sure when it was rescued but some of the stones were at some point put here close to the river. It has 3 engravings on it which say: 'A Blessing on the River',' Drink and be Thankful' and 'Water is Not for Man Alone'.
I am glad to have found out a bit more about it than I did previously.
