Grey Heron in Putney Heath

There's been one of these stalking our pond (that is stalking ... no, not storking StorksRock) so I got this one craning through the yellow flag and the edge of the pond on Putney heath.

They have a remarkable range of postures but every one of them still looks ungainly and slightly prehistoric. It's a good job they don't have bald heads.
