Mono Monday: Week 416 ....

... fact or fiction.

I'm not a great storyteller so I will simply list some interesting facts about squirrels for today's Mono Monday challenge.  Thanks to ApolloFly for hosting this month. 

1. There are three different types of squirrels ... tree squirrels, flying squirrels and ground squirrels.   Here in the Northeast we only have tree and flying squirrels.
2. They live on every continent except Australia and Antarctica.
3. There are about 285 species of squirrels worldwide.
4. Adult squirrels have a lifespan of 5-10 years in the wild. 
5. The squirrel is very industrious, known for thinking ahead and setting aside food caches to see him through the winter months.


That is just the tip of iceberg regarding squirrel facts ... but probably more than you'd ever want to know!
