Eirlys

I spot the delicate white bud, bright amongst the dullness of our front border. Nothing much grows here in the thin dry soil - but for the hardy shrubs that seem impervious to its lack of welcome.  Yet ever hopeful, each autumn I  plant a few bulbs left over from the containers which reliably fill our back garden with spring colour. Now, for the first time, I find at least one has borne fruit, a tiny bud glistening with morning dew.

Amazingly, it’s beaten its more cosseted competitors whose buds are still tucked tight into their stems; a tiny sign of hope.

Thanks to Pinkhairedlady for hosting!

(Eirlys is Welsh for Snowdrop - literally ‘snow lily’, the name I gave my previous snowdrop blip almost a year ago)
