Smiling through the rain
This morning it started misty and stayed like that until gradually giving way to drizzle. A couple of months ago we had arranged to go on a walk today with an ex colleague of mine, and his brother. As my friend is still working, and this is his day off, I didn't want to postpone the walk, so we did a wet and muddy five mile hike around Preston Candover, a village a few miles south of Basingstoke .The upsides of the walk were that it was mild 9C, it was very quiet, we had good conversation, we didn't get lost, or fall over in the mud, and we had a terrific lunch in the Purefoy Arms afterwards. (A cup of homemade parsnip soup and Welsh rarebit on ciabatta, and Doom Bar bitter).
This evening we did an online YouTube Ukulele class with our teacher, so it's been a good day.
