The Train No Longer Departing

We had a walk this morning along the course of the old Plymouth to Princetown railway. The line once carried freight and passengers  along it's winding track. This was Burrator Halt, a very scenic spot overlooking the picturesque Burrator Reservoir. There used to be a notice here warning of the danger of snakes. No doubt this must have added to the sense of the danger and excitement of a visit to the wilds of Dartmoor! The remains of the platform and the disused railway are to the right of the picture.
