Tim and Gillian got engaged so we had a Kurdish picnic in the mountains - as did the rest of Erbil, but we were a bit late for a Friday so had a spot to ourselves. The old couple who own the land came down to check us out. No question of being thrown off though, picnics being a human right and national obsession.
